AFC Wimbledon vs Oxford United - No new concerns for AFC Wimbledon ahead of Oxford visit
Posted Friday, January 13, 2017 by PA
AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley has no fresh injury or suspension concerns as they welcome Oxford in Sky Bet League One.
Chris Whelpdale, who has been out because of a groin injury, has been back in training this week and played an hour for the under-21 side but had to be taken off as a precaution.
Assistant manager Neil Cox confirmed that Whelpdale would be unlikely to feature this weekend but the club are hopeful that he will be available to face Sutton in the Emirates FA Cup reply.
Defender Jonathan Meades remains sidelined due to an ankle injury and is unlikely to feature in the next couple of games.
Oxford have Alex MacDonald and Charlie Raglan available after they missed the midweek Checkatrade Trophy win over Scunthorpe.
MacDonald completed his three-match ban and could boost Michael Appleton's forward options, while Raglan was cup-tied and returns to the squad.
Curtis Nelson, John Lundstram, Ryan Ledson and Chris Maguire were all rested in the week and should return to the starting XI.
Jack Stephens is likely to continue on the bench as cover for Simon Eastwood.
