Saint-Etienne 0 - 0 Nancy: Lacklustre St Etienne held by Nancy
Posted Thursday, December 22, 2016 by PA
St Etienne's lack of cutting edge cost them dearly as they were held to a goalless Ligue 1 draw by 10-man Nancy at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
Christophe Galtier's side have one of the best defensive records in the French top flight, but have only scored 18 goals in 19 Ligue 1 games this term.
The visitors had defender Erick Cabaco sent off with half an hour remaining, but still managed to hang on on for a point.
It could have been a different story for the home side had Kevin Monnet-Paquet's effort in the opening minute not been well stopped by Syarhey Chernik, while Kevin Malcuit fired over the bar and Romain Hamouma went close.
