Dundee United made it 11 games unbeaten in all competitions as they beat Ayr 1-0 at Somerset Park in the Ladbrokes Championship.

Tope Obadeyi got the visitors off to a flying start with his second goal for the club after six minutes, finishing off a sweeping counter-attack to catch Ayr cold.

The hosts pushed to find an answer after the break, but Ray McKinnon's side held firm to maintain the pressure at the top of the Scottish Championship table.

Dundee United remain second, only behind leaders Hibernian on goal difference, while Ayr slip to eighth.
