Dunfermline 2 - 1 Greenock: Michael Moffat bags a brace as Dunfermline beat Morton
Posted Sunday, December 11, 2016 by PA
Michael Moffat netted twice as Dunfermline edged a dramatic first half to beat Morton 2-1 at East End Park.
The visitors made a strong start and almost had something to show for it when Jai Quitongo was brought down in the box, but Dunfermline's Sean Murdoch guessed correctly to save Thomas O'Ware's sixth-minute spot-kick.
Moffat then capped off his 100th appearance for the hosts with a carbon copy brace as he twice intercepted lapse back passes to fire Dunfermline into a 2-0 lead, before Aidan Nesbitt pulled one back for the visitors just before the break.
Morton were unable to force the issue any further after the interval and they missed the chance to leapfrog Falkirk, while Dunfermline move up to seventh.
