Cambridge United vs Morecambe - Cambridge duo pushing for starts

Posted Friday, September 16, 2016 by PA

Adam McGurk and Harrison Dunk will be pushing for starting roles when rock-bottom Cambridge welcome Morecambe in Sky Bet League Two.

The pair have recently returned to full fitness and made a positive impact after coming off the bench despite the U's narrowly losing at high-flying Plymouth last weekend.

Midfield duo James Dunne and George Maris will be unavailable due to ankle injuries as Shaun Derry's men chase their first league win of the season.

Forward Barry Corr is continuing his rehabilitation from knee surgery while defender Elliot Omozusi (broken foot) is also a long-term absentee.

Morecambe will be without defender Alex Whitmore for the clash.

Whitmore was sent off late on in the 5-1 defeat to Doncaster last Saturday and will start his three-match suspension this weekend.

Dean Winnard, Peter Murphy, and Aaron Wildig are unlikely to feature as they are all still recovering from knee injuries.

Morecambe sit seventh in the table but have lost their last three matches in all competitions.
