Exeter City vs Plymouth Argyle - Reuben Reid in line for Exeter bow
Posted Friday, September 16, 2016 by PA
Reuben Reid could be in line for a dramatic Exeter debut against former club Plymouth in the Devon derby.
Reid scored 41 goals in two seasons for the Pilgrims before suffering an injury-hit 2015-16 campaign and left in the summer to become a free agent.
The 28-year-old forward made the surprise switch to Exeter this week and says he is available for the Sky Bet League Two fixture having kept himself in good shape over the summer.
Defender Luke Croll should return after missing last week's 2-0 defeat at Crewe through illness and David Wheeler could make the bench following hamstring trouble, but Lee Holmes (foot) is still absent.
Plymouth defender Gary Miller has trained this week, despite coming off with a head injury in the first half of Argyle's 2-1 win over Cambridge last Saturday.
Gary Sawyer is out, however. Sawyer pulled a muscle in his stomach last month and is expected to be out for another two weeks.
Karleigh Osborne is regaining match fitness after recovering from a thigh strain but the defender is unlikely to be ready this weekend.
Midfielder Ryan Brunt remains sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury in his knee.
