Brechin City 1 - 0 Stenhousemuir: Robert Thomson's overhead kick sees bottom side Brechin beat Stenhousemuir

Posted Sunday, April 03, 2016 by PA

Robert Thomson's brilliant overhead kick gave bottom side Brechin a vital 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir.

Thomson's acrobatic strike in the 49th minute handed injured player-manager Darren Dodds' side a fourth straight home victory while Stenhousemuir have now lost six of their last eight matches.

Brechin stay at the foot of Scottish League One with Forfar, who also now have 33 points, beating Peterhead.

The opening half saw plenty of action but no clear efforts on goal, Brechin's Jonathan Tiffoney going closest when he shot to the right of goal.

Thomson broke the deadlock four minutes after the interval in outstanding fashion. His 12th league goal of the season came from a central position.
