Montpellier 0 - 2 Nice: Nice back into top three with first away win in five months
Posted Sunday, March 13, 2016 by PA
Nice reclaimed third place in Ligue 1 after beating Montpellier 2-0 to record their first away win since November.
The hosts were wasteful inside the opening 45 minutes with both Souleymane Camara and Mustapha Yatabare spurning good opportunities to hand Frederic Hantz's side a valuable first-half lead.
And that profligacy came back to haunt Montpellier in the second half when Jean-Michel Seri released Valerie Germain on the counter and the Monaco loanee needed no second invitation to open the scoring.
The points were all but secured with less than quarter of an hour to play when Hatem Ben Arfa opened up the hosts' defence before teeing up Alassane Plea for a second Nice goal.
