Cardiff City vs Brighton & Hove Albion - Russell Slade to consider Cardiff's striking options

Posted Friday, February 19, 2016 by PA

Cardiff boss Russell Slade will consider his striking options ahead of the home game with former club Brighton.

City have drawn a blank in their last two Sky Bet Championship games and Slade has to decide how to fill the gap caused by Sammy Ameobi's one-game ban.

Lex Immers, Kenneth Zohore and Federico Macheda are all under consideration, with Idris Saadi also nearing full fitness after a hamstring problem.

Winger Craig Noone continues to make slow progress from a chest injury that has ruled him out of the last three games, while defender Sean Morrison hopes to rejoin the squad after damaging knee ligaments in December.

Brighton will assess the fitness of on-loan Manchester United striker James Wilson, who has missed the last two matches with a groin injury.

Liam Rosenior is fit after a knee injury and fellow defenders Gordon Greer (hamstring) and Gaetan Bong (thigh) are also close to returning.

But Uwe Huenemeier is still out with groin trouble and Solly March is a long-term absentee due to a knee injury.

Veteran striker Bobby Zamora could return to the starting line-up after dropping to the bench for the goalless draw at leaders Hull in midweek.
