Bradford AFC vs Rochdale - Rory McArdle back for Bradford

Posted Friday, February 19, 2016 by PA

Bradford defender Rory McArdle is expected to return to contention for the home game against Rochdale.

McArdle missed the midweek win against Southend following the birth of his first child and boss Phil Parkinson faces a dilemma over whether to recall him or stick with Nathan Clarke in defence.

Parkinson has no new injury or suspension problems as his side, three points off the play-off places, chase a third straight league win.

Striker Billy Clarke returned from a hamstring injury as an unused substitute on Tuesday night and is among those pushing for a recall to the starting line-up.

Niall Canavan could make his Rochdale debut after signing from Scunthorpe on an emergency loan.

The 24-year-old defender had not played for his parent club for over a month and was allowed to join Dale.

Forward Calvin Andrew is likely to miss out after coming off in last week's home defeat to Millwall with a foot injury and missing Tuesday's draw with Crewe.

Midfielder Donal McDermott may return after a stomach complaint but defender Scott Tanser is recovering from a lower leg problem.
