Hartlepool United FC vs Exeter City - Ellis Harrison a doubt for Hartlepool

Hartlepool boss Ronnie Moore could be without striker Ellis Harrison for Saturday's Sky Bet League Two clash with Exeter.

Moore is awaiting the results of a scan on the ankle injury his loan signing suffered at Cambridge last weekend, but he is a major doubt.

However, fellow frontman Billy Paynter will hope for a place in the 18 after making a quicker-than-expected return from a long-term Achilles problem.

Defender Scott Harrison is back in contention after a minor knee strain, but the game is likely to come too soon for Carl Magnay, who is still struggling to shake off a groin problem, and Michael Duckworth (stomach) and Harry Worley (ankle) are still out.

Exeter captain Jordan Moore-Taylor is a major doubt for their long trip north.

The defender limped off with a calf strain in last week's 2-1 win over Accrington.

Manager Paul Tisdale also has concerns over winger Lee Holmes and midfielder David Noble (both hamstring), with the pair set to face late fitness tests.

With Saturday's game the Grecians' seventh this month, Tisdale is keen to rest defender Troy Brown and Alex Nicholls, with Christian Ribeiro and Arron Davies the likely beneficiaries.
