Coventry vs Scunthorpe United - Coventry wait on Adam Armstrong and Jacob Murphy ahead of Scunthorpe clash

Coventry will assess Adam Armstrong and Jacob Murphy before their Sky Bet League One meeting with Scunthorpe.

Newcastle loanee Armstrong injured his knee slipping on ice and missed the 3-0 defeat at Southend last week while Murphy also sat out that game with a hamstring problem.

Boss Tony Mowbray told a press conference: "We're hopeful but it's a case of wait and see. They have both got strength, speed and goals so we clearly missed them last week."

Midfielder John Fleck will miss the game as he serves the second of his two-match ban.

Scunthorpe's Gary McSheffrey could be fit to face his former club after recovering from a knee injury which has ruled him out since November.

McSheffrey successfully came through a development match in midweek and will be pushing for a place in caretaker duo Andy Dawson and Nick Daws' plans.

However, McSheffrey may have to wait for his chance with the Iron expected to remain unchanged after their 3-0 win over Colchester.

Forward Kevin van Veen is a doubt as he faces a scan on an injury he sustained on the training ground this week.
