Wigan Athletic vs Blackpool - Wigan to make wholesale changes after cup defeat

Gary Caldwell is likely to respond to Wigan's Johnstone's Paint Trophy exit by shuffling his pack against Blackpool.

Latics' dreams of returning to Wembley were dashed in a penalty shoot-out loss to Barnsley and their Scottish manager admitted those who came in to the XI had done little to persuade him they merited staying there.

Yanic Wildschut started on the bench after nursing a recent hamstring strain and will almost certainly start if fully fit, while defender Donald Love extended his loan from Manchester United this week having returned following a thigh injury that kept him out for a month.

Kevin McNaughton remains the club's only long-term absentee with a knee injury.

Blackpool are hopeful Andy Little can feature at the DW Stadium.

The Preston loanee's stint at Bloomfield Road has been hampered by a hamstring injury but he was slated to train on both Thursday and Friday and could be in the squad if there is no reaction.

Goalkeeper Colin Doyle remains out with an ankle injury, but there is a possibility he will be back before Christmas after it emerged surgery was not required.

Teenager Henry Cameron went under the knife on Thursday for the season-ending knee injury he suffered recently while Lloyd Jones (ankle) remains another long-term absentee.
