Livingston 0 - 1 Falkirk - Alston extends Falkirk run

Posted Sunday, December 14, 2014 by PA

Blair Alston's winner gave Falkirk a third straight victory as they defeated bottom-of-the-table Livingston 1-0 in the Scottish Championship.

The Bairns had beaten Alloa and Hibernian in their last two league games and made it nine points from nine when Alston struck after 28 minutes.

The visitors could have gone ahead before Alston's opener when Will Vaulks' long-range strike cannoned off the woodwork.

Falkirk did not have to wait long for their decisive goal, though, as Alston collected a pass from Tom Taiwo and curled in from inside the area.

The post denied David McCracken as the Bairns pushed for a second before the break, yet they eased off in the second period knowing Alston's strike would be enough.
