MANCHESTER UNITED and Manchester City will go head-to-head for the signature of AC Milan defender Adil Rami.
AC Milan are under pressure to sell French international Adil Rami
Italian reports claim Milan are under severe pressure to offload their coveted French international, with both Manchester clubs lying in wait.
Rami signed for a modest £3m in the summer of 2013 from Spanish side Valencia, and just 14-months later is worth around £10m.
The 28-year-old is a stalwart of Filippo Inzaghi's Milan side, but hasn't been looked favourably upon at international level, earning his last cap in February 2013.
Rami clearly believes a move to the Premier League will boost his chances of cementing a spot in Didier Deschamps Euro 2016 championship squad.
Both Louis van Gaal and Manuel Pellegrini are known to be in the market for an experienced defender.
The Dutchman is particularly keen to bolster his defensive ranks to cover the unfortunate number of injuries to almost all of his back-line this season.
Meanwhile City's capture of £32m Eliaquim Mangala is yet to convince, so the Chilean will look to add yet another centre-half to his already bulging ranks.
