Falkirk vs Hearts preview - Mixed news for Falkirk

Posted Saturday, November 15, 2014 by PA

Falkirk boss Peter Houston is once again without the injured Liam Dick (ankle) and Owain Tudur-Jones (knee) when his side entertain Championship leaders Hearts.

However, Kieran Duffie and Thomas Grant are added to the squad after lengthy absences.

Technical director Alex Smith said: "We were very disappointed with the 4-0 defeat from Rangers last weekend. We had gone into the game determined to make an impression but we didn't do ourselves justice.

"Hearts are worthy leaders who have had to work hard to keep their unbeaten run going in their last couple of games. If we play like we can they will need to work hard to beat us."

Hearts will be without Callum Paterson for the clash.

The right-back was called up to the Scotland squad for their games against the Republic of Ireland and England.

But head coach Robbie Neilson will have his Scotland Under-21 players available before they travel to Switzerland for a friendly on Tuesday.

Neilson said: "The surface will definitely come into my team selection. I've decided what I'm going to do already, team-wise.

"It will take into account the astro-turf, the way the ball moves and different players who are suited to it. It's part of football; you need to adapt to different situations."
