The San Siro trainer says his boss is full of brilliant advice and suggested that Fernando Torres and Jeremy Menez might start together on Wednesday
Filippo Inzaghi says AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is happy with how the team have started 2014-15.
The Rossoneri chief has been quick to pull the trigger on coaches in the last 12 months - first firing Massimiliano Allegri from the post in January then dismissing his replacement Clarence Seedorf at the end of 2013-14.
Inzaghi's men have started relatively well, however, by winning four of their first eight Serie A matches to be situated one point off third place and, heading into Wednesday's clash with Cagliari, the current San Siro incumbent says his boss is delighted with Milan's performances this season.
"I spoke to Berlusconi earlier on the phone," Inzaghi told reporters. "We always talk and there are always discussions between us two.
"He tells us about what he wants and puts across his views. He is happy with me and with the team. He always gives us lots of advice that proves to be right.
"I know he is happy about our attacking style of football. He prefers a centre-forward in the box, but we have showed that we can also play in another way - it went well against Lazio and Parma, but not as well against Fiorentina.
"I know what Berlusconi's thoughts are, but tomorrow it's not to be taken for granted that we are going to play with just one centre-forward.
"For instance, if we change system, Fernando Torres and Jeremy Menez have shown that they can play together."
