Torino vs Fiorentina preview - Torino fired up for Fiorentina

Torino go into their game against Fiorentina on Sunday with renewed confidence after their midweek triumph at Cagliari.

The Granata won 2-1 in Sardinia on Wednesday to record their first win of the campaign.

Toro had previously mustered just one point from their opening three league games.

"I'm very satisfied with the victory and especially, with how my team performed," Torino coach Giampiero Ventura said. "We went into this game under presssure as the team had failed to score in four games.

"However, my players showed a lot of determination to bounce back and win."

Fabio Quagliarella was thrilled to have finally opened his goal account with the Granata.

The veteran forward joined Toro, the club where he began his career, this summer after four seasons playing with Turin rivals Juventus.

"I'm delighted to have scored," Quagliarella said. "I really wanted this goal and it has finally arrived.

"When a striker doesn't score he is criticised and when he does, he is praised.

"This is how football works.

"We still have a lot of work to do but our tournament begins now."

Rivals Fiorentina have collected five points so far and travel to Turin also hungry for goals.

The Viola, who lost first-choice strikers Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez to injuries earlier this month, have scored just once in four league games.

Fiorentina did have 16 goalscoring chances, including two shots that hit the post, in their goalless draw against Sassuolo on Wednesday.

"Honestly, I am not worried because if you look at our performance there is nothing to worry about," Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella said. "We didn't give Sassuolo any spaces and we came close to scoring on many occasions.

"The only thing that was missing was the goal but the team played well and I'm disappointed that we didn't win because my players deserved it."

Montella is set to field Joaquin alongside Khouma Bababar and Juan Guillermo Cuadrado in attack.
