Raith Rovers 0 : 0 Falkirk - Rovers held by stubborn Falkirk

Raith missed out on the opportunity to leapfrog Rangers into second place in the Scottish Championship as they were held to a goalless draw by struggling Falkirk.

In an even opening 45 minutes, Falkirk's Owain Tudur Jones had the pick of his side's best chances when home goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw got down well to save his 20-yard effort before Martin Scott saw his close-range effort deflected over the crossbar at the other end as half-time approached.

Both sides went close after the restart with Falkirk substitute Scott Durojaiye almost catching out Laidlaw with a deflected shot while Rovers' Rory McKeown brought a smart save out of Jamie MacDonald following a darting run.

Laurie Ellis's close-range header and Jason Thomson's rasping drive both threatened to open the scoring late on for the hosts but neither effort had the necessary accuracy.
