Ayr Utd. vs Airdrie United preview - No Forest fire for Ayr

Leaders Ayr will be without winger Alan Forest against bottom-of-the-table Airdrie.

Forest is struggling with a shoulder injury, but manager Mark Roberts has a pleasant dilemma to solve before kick-off.

He said: "This will be a really tough game as if you are below par at all in this league you will lose.

"Airdrie are always slow starters, but they will come good so I have to pick the right team to get us a result.

"I have the pleasant choice of sticking with what has been successful so far this season or using Craig Beattie, who scored twice last week, from the start."

Airdrie's John Boyle sits it out due to a knee injury as his side look for their first win of the season.

The Diamonds were seconds away from their first three-point haul last weekend against Stranraer, but an injury-time goal saw them draw 3-3 and manager Gary Bollan is determined his side puts that disappointment behind them.

Bollan said: "That felt more like a defeat and it was a bit of naivety that cost us.

"We took chances going forward when we should have just seen the game out. Hopefully we will learn from it.

"Ayr are going well and we have to play at our best to win."
