Oldham Athletic AFC vs Scunthorpe United preview - Lockwood out for Oldham

Oldham's club captain Adam Lockwood will remain their only absentee against Scunthorpe.

A foot injury has kept the defender on the sidelines for the entire season and although he is back in light training, Latics are exercising caution with the 32-year-old's problem.

After failing to score for the second time in three games against Notts County last time out, the likes of James Dayton and Danny Philliskirk will hope for recalls.

Lee Johnson's side are currently on a six-game unbeaten run and have kept five clean sheets in that half-a-dozen fixtures.

Scunthorpe defender Miguel Llera is suspended as Russ Wilcox's injury-hit side chase their first league win on the road this season.

Llera received his fifth yellow card of the campaign in last week's home defeat to Leyton Orient and sits out a one-game ban so Andrew Boyce is in contention for his first start for the club, although Callum Howe is in contention.

Midfielder Neal Bishop (foot) could return after missing four games, but striker Lyle Taylor is not expected to feature after sustaining a groin injury against Orient.

Midfielder Sean McAllister (ankle) is another injury doubt, while goalkeeper Sam Slocombe (shoulder), midfielder David Syers, defenders David Mirfin and Miles Addison, plus striker Deon Burton (all knee) remain long-term absentees.
