Blackpool vs Norwich City preview - Riga hopes for fitness boost

Jose Riga will be keeping his fingers crossed that Blackpool's lengthy casualty list subsides for high-flying Norwich's trip to Bloomfield Road.

The winless Seasiders are likely to welcome experienced defender Peter Clarke back from illness while a week off will have helped midfielder Andrea Orlandi's foot problem.

However, Costa Rice international Jose Cubero - yet to make his debut for the club because of work permit problems - has picked up an injury and Jeffrey Rentmeister sustained an ankle knock against Brighton.

Riga, who was only able to name six substitutes a week ago, is down to the bare bones as it is with Jacob Mellis, Bobby Grant and Gary MacKenzie (all knee), as well as striker Steven Davies (groin) all long-term absentees.

Norwich manager Neil Adams will revert to his regular starting XI for the trip.

Adams made 11 changes for Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup, with none of them expected to retain their places.

Jonny Howson and Gary Hooper made their returns from knee and calf injuries respectively at Greenhous Meadow and could be involved in the league matchday squad for the first time this season.

Republic of Ireland international Wes Hoolahan has recovered from the ankle injury he hurt prior to last Saturday's 2-2 draw at home to Birmingham in which he was withdrawn at half-time.
