Blackburn Rovers vs Watford preview - Rovers welcome back midfield trio

Blackburn should have plenty of midfield options for the visit of Watford to Ewood Park.

Loanee Ryan Tunnicliffe is available again after missing out against parent club Fulham, while Lee Williamson (leg) and Tom Cairney (ankle) are both expected to overcome the injuries which forced them off at Craven Cottage.

Jason Steele will be expected to retain his place in goal as Paul Robinson (knee) is once again unavailable, along with Jason Lowe (ankle) and David Dunn (knee).

Full-back Tommy Spurr (groin) is not quite ready to be welcomed back into the fold while striker Chris Brown (knee) remains a long-term absentee.

Gabriel Tamas has joined Troy Deeney and Keith Andrews on Watford's casualty list.

Defender Tamas faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament against Bournemouth last weekend.

Craig Cathcart is therefore set for his first start of the season after replacing the Romanian and scoring the equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road.

Striker Deeney will be out until after the international break next month with a hamstring injury and midfielder Andrews has a calf problem, but defender Gabriele Angella is fit after a minor foot injury.
