Granada CF vs Levante preview - Caparros not taking Levante lightly

Granada coach Joaquin Caparros believes Wednesday's game against former club Levante will be his side's toughest test yet.

The Andalusians are one of just six sides still unbeaten in the Primera Division this season and currently occupy sixth place, while Levante have fallen on hard times under Caparros' successor Jose Luis Mendilibar.

Los Granotes prop up the league table after being ravaged 5-0 by Barcelona on Sunday, and still have not scored a goal this season.

However, Caparros is not taking the visit of the league's bottom club for granted.

"The game against Levante is the most difficult of all, I know their squad and it is going to be very challenging," he told reporters.

"You really have to watch out for that team when four or five players in the dressing room turn up the pressure and clench their fists. We will also have to turn up the pressure if we want to get a good result."

The coach expressed his satisfaction at leading Granada to their best start to a La Liga season since returning to Spain's top flight in 2011, but stressed there was still work to do.

"No-one can take those points away from us but they mean nothing to us for the next games, so we need to start from scratch and imagine we need the points as much as Levante do," he said.

And the coach reiterated his feelings for the club where he led them to a top-10 finish last season.

"No-one can imagine how I feel about Levante, I am a club member and I still follow them. That club has given me a lot and I'm grateful to everyone there."

Caparros will be able to select forwards Youssef El Arabi and Darwin Machis once again but will be without the injured Ruben Rochina.

Levante must make do without defender Loukas Vyntra, after the Greek international was sent off against Barcelona, and Ivan Lopez is doubtful.

Coach Mendilibar admitted his team need to improve their attitude on the pitch and said his aim was for them to make life uncomfortable for Granada.

"We need to do our talking on the pitch and show some attitude," he told reporters.

"We want to be a difficult team for our opponents and we've discussed this - in what way we need to defend, give each other support, and not be scattered all over the pitch."
