Monaco vice president rules out transfer - "Real Madrid have never asked me about Falcao"

Monaco Vice President Vadim Vasilyev is adamant that Falcao is not leaving the French club. Despite the endless speculation concerning the Colombian's future, he believes the striker will stay at Monaco.

He reiterated the fact once more during an interview given to L'Équipe. "I have met several times with Real's representatives, but we never spoke about Falcao at all. We are not involved in negotiations and the truth of the matter is he will play for us next season", Vasilyev said.

Falcao is well and truly back on goalscoring form following his injury. He was in the starting line up in last Sunday's match for the first time in three months and he scored the winning goal against Arsenal with the first chance he got.

Vasilyev thought the player looked happy: "I think he's glad to be over the injury and be back with his team mates".

Monaco fans celebrated the return of their illustrious striker. "Sunday's performance confirms Falcao's status as a great forward. He missed the World Cup through injury and that's always tough psychologically, but he has character and I hope this will be his season at Monaco," Vasilyev said.

Various teams have shown an interest in signing The Tiger over the summer, but Monaco have always made their position clear: Radamel is not for sale and is central to the club's ambitions.
