Valencia signs Germany defender Mustafi

VALENCIA, Spain (AP) — Spanish club Valencia says it has signed Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi to a five-year contract.
The 22-year-old Mustafi helped Germany win the World Cup this summer in Brazil. He made three appearances before injuring his left thigh in a win over Algeria in the round of 16.
Mustafi arrives from Italian club Sampdoria. Valencia did not release the financial details of the transfer.
Mustafi says "coming to Valencia is a step forward in my career and I hope to have success."
