The New York Jets and the Portuguese National Team swap sports for the day
Cristiano Ronaldo defied his Ghanaian priest tormentor and returned to training on Monday as Portugal worked out at the New York Jets' facility ahead of their friendly against Ireland. And just to prove how ready he is for the World Cup, Ronaldo played two different kinds of football.
Jets wide receiver David Nelson taught him how to throw an American football (as seen 30 seconds into the video below) and Ronaldo's technique was...interesting. The Portuguese players also tested their vertical leaps by tying a ball to crossbar of the goalposts and seeing who could head it. Ronaldo couldn't quite get it at his first attempt, but Pepe, who is also recovering from injury, did. Ever the competitor Cristiano then gave it another go and fully connected.
