WORLD cup fever hit the streets of Birmingham last night as students partied into the late hours for a Brazilian themed Carnage beach party.

Girls in green hot pants and boys in football shirts took to the streets to do what students do best – party, puke and get their stomachs pumped.

The controversial Carnage nights head to different university cities each month and this time it was Birmingham who played host to the fighting and fornicating as the booze flowed freely.

The Summer Beach Party theme was a little more Bognor Regis than Brazil as despite warming themselves on cheap shots and luminous bottles of alcopops the temperatures plummeted and there were a lot of corned beef legs on show and chattering blue lips on show.

A group of girls were seen crowding around a young lad who had vomited all over himself and was lying comatose on the floor.

Another group watched their female friend hurling into a bucket by the side of some wheelie bins.

Others could be seen simply lying in the middle of the street or slumped over railings.

At one point a rowing couple were spotted almost coming to blows with a woman grabbing her partner around the neck after being ejected from one of the bars.

Dubbed Britain’s most debauched student event organisers have previously been criticised in the past for encouraging binge drinking and anti-social behaviour.

The Carnage UK events are run by Varsity Leisure Group, a multi-million-pound business that puts on hundreds of pub crawls throughout Britain.
