Dunfermline vs Brechin preview - Pars eye play-off spot

Dunfermline can secure a play-off spot if they beat visitors Brechin and other results go in their favour.

However they will be without Danny Grainger through suspension while Ryan Wallace is a major injury doubt.

But captain Josh Falkingham returns after injury with manager Jim Jefferies hoping a blast at his players following last weekend's 2-1 defeat by East Fife produces the right result.

Jefferies said: "It was not just the result that disappointed me but the drop in standards. It is the first time this season that the players have done that and hopefully we will get a positive reaction."

Brechin have six players ruled out through injury and a seventh, Derek Carcary, is facing a fitness test.

Ewan Moyes (ankle), Garry Kenneth (hamstring), Jonny Brown (calf), Paul McLean (hamstring), Stephen Robb (knee) and Andy Jackson (thumb) are all unavailable to Ray McKinnon.

The Glebe Park boss said: "We are down to the bare bones and are out of loan signings so we will go with what we have and get on with it. We have competed in every game with Dunfermline this season and the results have been spread evenly with a win each and a draw.

"Despite our numbers we aim to compete again."
