Beckham closes in on £100m Miami United FC (MUFC)... but Man United legend will have to do deal with existing US club

David Beckham is set to secure his MLS franchise in Miami for a cut-price £15million ahead of a New Year deadline.
Sources close to the former England captain and Manchester United midfielder reveal that he is on course to complete a package for MLS officials that will identify investors and sponsors, the site of a new stadium, plans for a temporary home and an overall business plan.

The Beckham camp are expected to make an official announcement on the venture soon. Miami officials are due to meet on Tuesday in a move that will enable city authorities to identify possible stadium sites, and that will trigger contract negotiations with developers.
Beckham wants to build a 25,000-seat stadium on public land on the city's Dodge Island. Setting everything up will cost in excess of £100m.
