Airdrie United vs Dunfermline preview - Keeper dilemma for Bollan
Posted Friday, November 15, 2013 by PA
Airdrie boss Gary Bollan must decide whether Andrew Duncan keeps his place in goal for the visit of Dunfermline.
Youngster Duncan impressed against Rangers last weekend, despite the 2-0 defeat. On-loan Rangers goalkeeper Scott Gallacher has missed out as the Diamonds have played the Ibrox side two weeks running. The recently-appointed Bollan is set to make his decision at Saturday lunch-time.
Chris O'Neil (groin) and Grant Evans (ankle) will be absent through injury but trialist Jamie Pollock is set for a second Airdrie appearance.
Bollan said: "We may have lost both games to Rangers but I saw good things and if we can build on them we will do okay against Dunfermline."
Dunfermline welcome back striker Jordan Moore, who last season had a loan spell at Airdrie, from suspension.
Faissal El Bakhtaoui will miss out with a hamstring injury and Ryan Thomson is a doubt with an ankle knock as the Pars look to consolidate second place in the table.
Manager Jim Jefferies said: "Our youngsters have stuck at things well this season and that spirit helped them defeat Stenhousemuir last week with a last-minute goal.
"We will need that spirit again as Airdrie will be out to for the win that would help start them moving upwards in the table."
