Real: Champions League, here we come!

An epic Real Sociedad has gone a long way to assuring its qualification for the group stage of the Champions League tournament, having come away 2-0 winners.

The Basque team gave a splendid lesson on how one should compete in Europe's top flight. Hard-working and determined, they proved from start to finish what they are worthy of, scoring two splendid goals.

Griezmann set his team on its way with a marvellous shot and Seferovic scored the second with a powerhouse of an attempt from outside of the area. Real Sociedad has clearly shown that it intends to be in the Champions League for more than just a couple of games, and certainly will do if it can finish in Anoeta what it has started in Gerland.

Olympique Lyonnais, on the other hand, disappointed its home crowd, never giving any signs that it could give back the beating that it was taking. On all counts the French team was clearly inferior.
