Santos' stadium, the Vila Belmiro, awoke on Saturday morning covered in graffiti attacking the Brazilian club's board, following the 8-0 hammering at the hands of Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
"Respect for tradition" and "Shameful" were two of the phrases which appeared on the stadium walls in the city of Santos, according to the local media.
Another graffito demanded the resignation of the club president, Luis Álvaro de Oliveira, as well as the rest of the board, responsible for organising the Barcelona match as part of the deal for the transfer of Neymar.
The Brazilian press also attacked Santos' performance. "They were like Tahiti", ran the headline in sports daily 'Lance', while 'O Estado de São Paulo' and 'Folha de São Paulo' both described the match as "a massacre".
