Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that Kaka will soon regain the form required to be a key part of the team.
Since moving to Real Madrid in 2009, Kaka has struggled to be as influential a figure as he used to be at former club AC Milan.
The Brazilian started just 14 games last season under then manager Jose Mourinho, but the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti, the man who worked with Kaka at the San Siro, has ignited hope that the former Ballon d'Or winner will soon be back to his best.
Ancelotti told the club's official website that the 31-year old was applying himself hard during training, in preparation for the new campaign.
"He is working on his own and with the team. He is going to improve, but it will take time," he stated.
"We are very confident that he will improve quickly."
Despite the recent purchase of attacking midfielder Isco and the presence of playmakers like Mesut Ozil, Luka Modric and Kaka, sources from within Los Blancos have indicated that Ancelotti could slot Cristiano Ronaldo "in the hole" behind his chosen striker.
The Italian remained coy on his tactical plans for Ronaldo, but revealed that there would be much less defensive responsibilities on the former Manchester United star's shoulders.
"My view is that he should be comfortable playing because he is a very important player, but we do not need him to change his position," Ancelotti said.
"He does not have to do much defensive work but rather be ready when the team has the ball."
