Real Madrid's Denis Cheryshev is training to become a wing-back under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Defeating the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 in their latest pre-season fixture, Real Madrid have been in good form during their preparations for the new campaign.
Cheryshev, who is training with the senior squad after spending four years at Castilla, featured in the team's latest victory and he shared with the club's official website after the game that Ancelotti had a new position in store for him.
"I find it a little harder playing in defence, but little by little I'm adapting to the position of wing back," Cheryshev said.
"I've been listening to the manager and to Zidane, who are giving me advice to help me adapt as quickly as possible. I want to learn from the best, like Marcelo and Coentrão."
Reflecting on the influence the new boss has had, Cheryshev was encouraged by Ancelotti's policy toward younger players.
"The manager is giving the younger players a lot of opportunities," he revealed.
"It's a big step that the club has taken. There are lots of quality players in the academy."
