The stain of racism will never fade away for Chelsea

LIT UP ... flare burns as United fan cheers goal
And Chelsea will find it much harder to shrug off, as recent events have proved.
A United banner proved the point, It read: ‘Chelsea — standing up to racism since Sunday.’ Ouch!
Stewards were quickly dispatched on a cover-up mission. Chelsea’s on-pitch woes aren’t so easy to cover up. United’s 3-2 win here at the weekend came hot on the heels of a Champions League drubbing (in all but scoreline) in Donetsk.
And boss Robbie Di Matteo was quickly staring at a third successive defeat when veteran Ryan Giggs swept a much-changed, but equally free-flowing United into an early lead.
Keeper Petr Cech’s Halloween howler gifted the opener.
And frustrated Chelsea fans were now beginning to simmer.
There were murmurs after Romeu was cautioned but when referee Lee Mason booked Mikel for a foul on Danny Welbeck, they sang: “You’re worse than Clattenburg.”
Mason got back in their good books by awarding a penalty, allowing David Luiz to thunder home the equaliser. But United fans were not impressed. One idiot threw a flare on to the pitch, while another moron ran on to the pitch. Chelsea then handed United a second goal with Javier Hernandez on target as Blues owner Roman Abramovich held his head in his hands.
