Goal ... ace Craig Bellamy after historic strike

SOCCER’S Craig Bellamy celebrates last night after becoming the first British man to score in Team GB colours in 52 years.

The Welsh winger hit the target in front of a near sell-out crowd in the side’s opening Group A match at Man United’s Old Trafford stadium.

His strike gave skipper Ryan Giggs the perfect start against Olympic rivals Senegal. But Moussa Konate hit a late equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw.

England and Manchester City goalie Joe Hart was in the stadium to cheer on the GB side, and was frisked when he walked through the security cordon.

Team GB play their second game on Sunday against the United Arab Emirates at Wembley.
