Roma have joined Real Madrid in the race to sign Tottenham defender Kyle Walker.
Walker, 21, has been outstanding for the north London club this season and is considered one of the best full-backs in the Premier League at the moment.
The talented defender has also made his breakthrough into the England side and is a strong favourite to start at right-back in the European Championships next summer.
Reports last week linked Real Madrid with a shock move to sign Walker as Jose Mourinho has been impressed with his displays for Tottenham.
But Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claims that Roma are now showing a big interest in the Tottenham star and have been monitoring his progress over the past few weeks.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will be desperate to keep Walker at White Hart Lane and will not want to lose one of his best young players.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has already shown with Luka Modric that he will do everything to keep his top stars and will be ready for any big offers which are made for Walker when the transfer window re-opens in January.
