Arsenal vs Blackburn Rovers preview - Key quartet back for Gunners

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be able to welcome back four key players from injury for Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash with Blackburn.

Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song, Theo Walcott and Abou Diaby have all recovered from their respective ailments and are set to feature in the vital match at the Emirates Stadium.

All four missed the 2-2 draw at West Brom last time out and Wenger is optimistic Robin van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner and Aaron Ramsey could join them in the squad despite picking up knocks on international duty.

The Arsenal boss insists he will not make a final decision on the trio until after training on Friday but is confident they will form part of Saturday's squad.

"[Fabregas, Song, Walcott and Diaby] will all be available," Wenger told ArsenalTV Online. "I have not decided if they will start the game yet but they will all be available."

Denilson is the only certain absentee for Rovers' visit after being ruled out with a toe injury and will drop out the line-up that started at The Hawthorns a fortnight ago as a consequence.

Wenger admitted he was disappointed with the draw at West Brom but is keen to remain focused on the run-in and their tilt at the Premier League crown.

"We believe the negatives are easy to correct, because it was quite painful to concede the goals the way we did," he said.

"Overall for the run-in, it was important for us not to lose because we are on a long unbeaten run now and to keep that going psychologically will be very important for the team.

"The only way to approach every game at the moment is as if it the last one of the season," he added.

Midfielder David Dunn returns to Blackburn's squad having missed the last three matches with a hip injury.

Captain Chris Samba sat out a week of training because of a back problem but is fit to feature at the Emirates.

Defender Gael Givet serves the final match of his suspension, while midfielder Vince Grella has been ruled out for the rest of the season after an Achilles operation. Keith Andrews is back in training after an infection following a groin operation.

Meanwhile, Arsenal cult hero John Jensen returns to his former club on Saturday looking to upset the very fans who took him to their hearts two decades ago.

The ex-Denmark international came back to English football as assistant to Blackburn manager Steve Kean in January.

He is sure to get a warm welcome from supporters at the Emirates Stadium but the 45-year-old is hoping they are not cheering at the final whistle.

Jensen went down in Gunners' folklore during his four-year spell from 1992 as he took 98 games to score his only goal, despite having been on target in the final of the 1992 European Championships immediately prior to his arrival.

That solitary strike prompted the printing of "I saw John Jensen score" T-shirts.

It is a story Jensen still enjoys retelling but with Rovers just a point from safety and eight matches left to secure their Premier League future, he knows his visit to London will not be a trip down memory lane.

"You are always going to enjoy it when you play your former club and I am really looking forward to seeing the Arsenal fans and some of the staff I know - I didn't play with any of the players because it was so long ago," he said.

"The fans were great. When you have scored in a European Championship final the fans were looking for a midfielder who would score at least 10 goals in the season and then they bought me.

"When I eventually scored a goal, even though we lost 3-1, the feeling was amazing when I walked off the pitch. I will always remember that day."

However, Jensen's focus now is on contributing to Rovers' relegation battle.

Blackburn have won just once since in nine matches, taking five points since January 15.

In their last two games the players have shown their fighting spirit, twice recovering from conceding against Fulham before eventually losing 3-2 and then bouncing back from 2-0 down at home to Blackpool to draw.

That has given Jensen all the belief he needed that the club will survive.

"Every team, including Manchester United and Arsenal, have spells when they are down and we have had our spell," he added.

"I know the last couple of games we have only got one point but the attitude and performance of the players has been fantastic and for me that is a turning point."
