Thousands of people lined the streets of Skibbereen in the Republic of Ireland on Monday (29th August) for the homecoming parade of Irish Olympic silver medallists Gary and Paul O'Donovan.
Brothers Gary and Paul O'Donovan received a hero's welcome home - after winning a first-ever Olympic rowing medal for the Republic of Ireland at the Olympic Games.
The siblings, from West Cork, - who claimed silver in the lightweight double sculls competition - paraded through the streets on Monday showing off their medals to the thousands of people who had gathered for their official homecoming.
And it was not just their rowing talent that captured the imagination of fans worldwide. The now-famous brothers charmed hordes of fans with an entertaining television interview following their silver-medal success.
