Club Brugge twice came from behind to earn a point in a 2-2 draw against Standard Liege in the Belgian First Division A (Pro League) on Sunday (28th August).
Last season's Belgian Pro League champions Club Brugge have failed so far to impose themselves on the new season.
They went into the game against Standard Liege having won two, and lost two. Their latest defeat at Kortrijk last weekend leaving them ninth in the early table.
Standard Liege made a confident start at the Jan Breydelstadion.
Birama Toure slotted the ball home from close range in the 14th minute.
Club Brugge twice had goals ruled out for offside. But they levelled seven minutes after the break: a deep cross from Ruud Vormer fired in by Felipe Gedoz.
Jelle Vossen's absolute screamer hit the post for the home side.
But then calamity at the other end when a throw-in from Brugge goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle was intercepted by Liege's Alexander Scholz.
The Dane supplied substitute Edmilson Junior - who finished in the 85th minute to put Liege 2-1 up
Deep into stoppage time Club Brugge snatched a point as another substitute, Anthony Limbombe, crossed to Bjorn Engels at the back post. His header past goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert leveled matters 2-2.
Club Brugge are next away to Waasland-Beveren; Standard Liege face Genk in two weeks' time.
