Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke following his side's 1-0 win second leg win over Steaua Bucharest of Romania in the Champions League play-off on Wednesday.

Because in every club there as so many important guys like Yaya (Toure) Samir (Nasri), David Silva, like (Gael) Clichy, like (Aleksandar) Kolorov as they make this club what it is. They are in the Champions League - this club in their life goes more (further) than the group stage. Semi-finals, it was last year, with Manuel (Pellegrini) so it's not a club with a European history and yet these guys have created this and I respect that but I am here and I have to take a decision. That's all and that's what I feel. Some fans will agree and some will not agree. I completely understand. You cannot think that when I was in Barcelona and Bayern Munich all my decisions were right. Time showed me I made mistakes but I have to take it as that is why Manchester City contacted me and said we'd like you to be our new manager but if you accept, you have to follow me, you have to accept what I believe in the way I want to play.
