Players talk Ryder Cup aspirations before the Made in Denmark tournament in Farso on Wednesday (24th August), as European Captain Darren Clarke decides on his final three picks.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Darren Clarke, Ryder Cup captain:
"You know - yes, they are Ryder Cup rookies, but those guys have won tournaments all over the world and they are proper golfers that I have 100 per cent trust and belief in. You know, they are all buzzing, they are all excited to be going to Hazeltine to represent Europe and I have no doubts about how well they are going play when they get there."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Thomas Bjorn:
"Yeah, we're proud of it, but we want to keep going, we want to keep growing it. We want to keep it getting better and better and obviously, being the last qualifying event for the Ryder Cup is important, but I still think the tournament has to hold its own for what the tournament is."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Darren Clarke, Ryder Cup captain:
"There's still quite a bit going on. You know, there's three picks and there are maybe seven, eight guys in my thoughts and that we're looking at, see how they are doing, so there's still a lot to play for. The automatic ones are done, but ther three wild cards, as I say, they are going to have to be very important and hopefully we'll come up with thre right three."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Martin Kaymer:
"I will try as hard as I can, that's for sure. I always do that. I don't need to impress Darren (Clarke) you know? He knows if I can play well or not and if he wants me on the team."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Soren Kjeldsen:
"I always try to impress Darren (Clarke). I want to play well this week and I'm determined to do that. I don't think too much about the Ryder Cup thing, because like you say, I can't guarantee a spot."
