Sean Dyche says striker Andre Gray's response is "authentic" after he was charged by the Football Association with misconduct after he sent homophobic tweets from his account back in 2012.
Gray, scorer of one of Burnley's goals in the win over Liverpool, issued an apology after the match and Dyche revealed the pair had spoken on Saturday night, calling Gray's response "authentic".
SOUNDBITE: (English) Sean Dyche, Burnley manager: (on striker Andre Gray's controversial comments on Twitter dating back from 2012 but which came to light after Saturday's win over Liverpool)
"When it was on Saturday evening, well we spoke then and he made it clear what he wanted to do with it and how he wanted to conduct his statement because it's authentic to him and I thought it was very clear. You know, he has moved a long way in his life. He made that clear with an apology and also to remind people that 'look, four years ago, I'm a different person now.' A lot has gone on his life to get him to where he's got to and I think he made that clear and I think and I hope that people will realise it's authentic because it was authentic what he said."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Sean Dyche, Burnley manager: (on trying to put Saturday's win over Liverpool behind his side)
"No, I think it goes away, they'll have enjoyed Sunday I'm sure, Saturday night, Sunday. But it goes away quickly, there's a very professional atmosphere around the group. They know all the season is a big challenge and not to get too carried away. We'll enjoy it, don't get me wrong but not get too carried away with it. There's good things that we did in the game and there's some things we have to improve on so we looked at that, parked that because we've got to get on with the next one which is a cup game."

"There's a possibility of changes, we're not sure how many, we'll speak about it this afternoon. We wanted to make sure everyone was fit and well and they are but because we've got a deeper squad now than we've had historically. I think there's some really good players within the depth of the squad and we're still looking to add to that of course. So I think there's likely to be some changes and to still get the changes right in order to win because we're certainly not taking this game lightly. I know John Coleman (Accrington manager) and I think he's done a fantastic job. It's a local game of course, a derby of sorts in a cup albeit. You know, we've got to take all that into consideration and make sure our team are capable of winning."
