Roma trained on Monday (22nd August) and looked ahead to the second leg of their Champions League play-off tie against Porto on Tuesday (23rd August). Coach Luciano Spalletti said his team "won't trust fate" as they look to build on their away goal advantage.
SOUNDBITE: (Italian), Luciano Spalletti, Roma coach:
"We want to decide, we won't trust fate. This is us who are defining what will be our fate tomorrow. We're going to start the match with our head held high, attempting to win the game from the very beginning and not wait until they come looking for the goal because they need to score."
SOUNDBITE: (Italian), Luciano Spalletti, Roma coach:
"It's not tomorrow's match which is waiting for us, it is us who are wanting to go meet it (the game). What game are you expecting? It's not tomorrow's game which expects me, it is us who are going to meet it, it is us who have been wanting it for eight months, it is us who have been working to be here tomorrow (Tuesday). It's what we wanted, it's what we have desired. From the beginning, it's been all for us. It's the game that can give us the keys to climb on Europe's most prestigious stage. For that (point of view) we are ready to play it, because it is eight months that we have wanted to be there tomorrow evening."
