Hours after the team's 101-72 win over Spain for Olympic gold, USA Women's Basketball players Lindsay Whalen, Brittney Griner, Seimone Augustus and Angel McCoughtry spoke to the media on Saturday (20th August).

"To be able to come together that quickly and to play as well as we played is a true testament to not just these four players here but the entire team, and how much they gave of themselves to make this work. You know, this isn't our sixth win in a row, this is our first win in a row - this particular team... so we celebrate it like it was the first time that we've done it, but for people in USA Basketball we're really proud of the fact that we've been able to establish that incredible legacy of winning. And it's something I'll never forget.
