Bournemouth head coach Eddie Howe on Thursday (August 18) looked ahead to his team's English Premier League trip to West Ham United
SOUNDBITE: (English) Eddie Howe, A.F.C Bournemouth Head Coach:
(On the previous EPL game, a 3-1 loss against Manchester United )
"Yeah, I don't think there was a negative result. Certainly I think the lads came in with renewed vigour and enthusiasm after the game. It was a difficult one for us because, for long spells of the game I thought we did well. I thought the game was in the balance and everyone said that it was very comfortable for Manchester United at the end but I think before that first goal it was anything but. A very even game."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Eddie Howe, A.F.C Bournemouth Head Coach:
(about possible signings)
"I am satisfied that we might.... 99 per cent of the way there I think. I don't want to add too many more to the group. We are quite high in numbers. There is potentially one position we might look at, but whether that will fall for us or not I don't know. That would be more, again, a younger player that would be one for the future rather than for the now. So, unless we do that deal we will stay as we are."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Eddie Howe, A.F.C Bournemouth Head Coach:
(about West Ham game)
"I think there are two ways to look at it. I don't necessarily go with that. I think there is pressure on us. We always believe there is pressure on us - from our own supporters, from ourselves... that we want to perform and give our best in the game. There is going to be a lot of hype surrounding the game, we are aware of that with the fact that it is the first game in the stadium. None of that matters to us. It is all about making sure that we apply ourselves in the right way and attack the game as we normally do."
