SOUNDBITE (English) Sergio Garcia, Spanish golfer: (On the top players missing from the Olympics)
"It doesn't mean that the guy that is number five or six or eight or eleven can't play as well as those guys. What I want to focus (on) is the guys who are here, how excited they all are, the level everybody here can bring to the golf course and to the Olympics and that's the most important thing."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Sergio Garcia, Spanish golfer: (On if he feels the need to represent golf well to help its Olympic future)
"At the end of the day the only thing we can do is play the best we can, show how great the game of golf is and then it's not in our hands to decide if the game of golf should sustain the Olympics or not. At the end of the day if everybody has a good time, if they enjoy it, if they put on a good show, hopefully that will be enough. If not we will have to wait and see."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Sergio Garcia, Spanish golfer:
(On if Zika virus was used as an excuse for golfers who skipped the tournament)
"That's what most of them said so I got to believe them. I know there are some risks and I said it when I committed to coming here, but at the end of the day you are free to have your opinion and make your own choices. For me looking at the pros and cons of coming here there were a lot more pros than cons and that's why I am here. I'm really happy that I'm here and I'm not regretting it once. That's the only thing I can tell you."
