Gwaldys Nocera shot a five-under-par 67 at Dundonald Links on Friday (22nd July) to take the first-round lead at the Ladies Scottish Open.
Much like the men's British Open last weekend windy conditions made for tough scoring on the opening day of the Ladies Scottish Open at Dundonald Links.
Cheyenne Woods, niece of Tiger Woods, struggled on Friday as she made two birdies yet three bogeys in an opening 73 to leave her six shots off the pace.
Becky Morgan of Wales had an excellent day with no dropped shots on her scorecard. Starting on the 10th hole, she made four birdies including one here at the 17th to end the day tied for second on four-under.
Also on four-under is England's Hannah Burke who was level-par at the turn but made four birdies coming home to card a 68.
The third player in a share of second after day one is Denmark's Nanna Koertz Madsen. The 21-year-old also made four birdies on the back nine to go with two on the front, but a bogey at 16 saw her go into the clubhouse on four-under.
Leading the way is France's Gwladys Nocera who started in blistering fashion.
The four-time Solheim Cup representative made five birdies on the front nine to go out in 31 shots. One of those here at the 7th. She carded a five-under-par 67 as she seeks her first win of 2016.
