The chairman of Rio 2016's organising committee said a lack of prize money - not the Zika virus - is the reason golfers will not go to Rio, during a debate organised by a local magazine on Saturday (July 16th).

"(Zika) does less damage than Dengue fever and nobody is talking about Dengue, because there aren't any cases. I think Zika is much worse in Florida than in Brazil and golfers are playing in Florida. So, the reason some are not coming is not (Zika). They tried to blame Zika, but the media has shown that they are not coming because there's no prize money."
